She asks to end the CJD study. After starting on the quinacrine medication, she experiences abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Also, she tells me that she continues to notice that she is losing capability to do even simple tasks. Her rationale is that now she is totally dependent upon me, she does not wish to continue to live in that fashion. She is afraid that she will either stay at that level or possibly become worse and the medication will leave her at level. We agree and notify UCSF.
