Caregivers for people with either Alzheimer's or FTD can benefit from learning some behavioral techniques for managing the behavior of patients (see our practical tips for suggestions).

While there are medications to help with the symptoms of Alzheimer's, there are currently no approved medications for any of the FTD-related conditions. Anticholinesterase medications like Aricept®, Exelon® and Razadyne® are not generally helpful for FTD and can make behaviors worse (see treatments for more information).
