Janet Allen-Williams

Janet Allen-Williams joined the UCSF Department of Neurology in 2015. Since April 2023, Janet has been serving as an Academic Assistant for the Memory and Aging Center, providing Academic Core Team services for the education team.
 
She earned her undergraduate degree in Legal Studies from St. Mary’s College and has worked at various law firms throughout San Francisco. Transitioning from a career as a paralegal into the field of medicine and science has been an opportunity for her to fuel her passion for justice and healthy communities. Janet is committed to amplifying the voices of those in underserved communities, advocating for positive change and more choices.

Janet’s advocacy and commitment to justice extends across the UCSF community and beyond. She is a proud member of the Black Caucus at UCSF, volunteering as a Steering Committee member, and was recently appointed to the Citizen’s Committee on Community Development for the City & County of San Francisco which provides input on the City's HUD community development grants and policies.
 
Born and raised in San Francisco, Janet grew up in the Dogpatch neighborhood near Mission Bay. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, traveling, hiking and hot yoga. Her pronouns are: Elle/Sa
