Neuro-Memory and Aging
Full Time
Req Number:
The UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is a dynamic multidisciplinary clinical and translational research program investigating neurodegenerative diseases. Our research is focused on understanding the best predictive factors and earliest causative changes in neurodegenerative disorders. The Staff Research Associate II (SRA II) participates in research projects aimed at developing new diagnostic and treatment approaches to Vascular Cognitive Impairment and Dementia (VCID), Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal Dementia and other related dementias.

The current projects are specifically investigating biofluid proteomic and RNA.  The SRA II will be able to work independently on a daily basis. This will include performance of experiments, and the accurate recording of data. There will be a strong emphasis on immunology and exosomes. Techniques will include protein extraction and purification, RNA and miRNA arrays, exosome isolation, cell cultures, western blotting, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, and related methods. The SRA II may also assist with processing of human biospecimen, entering data into clinical database and biorepository LIMS system, and pulling samples for use. They will also manage inventory of lab consumables, and supply purchases.
