The International Database Support & Capacity Building Analyst will assist international Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health in creating, cleaning and maintaining datasets needed to implement studies within their international regions. S/he will assist GBHI’s Atlantic Fellows and faculty in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting a wide variety of research data in a wide range of international settings on projects that range from neuroscience to clinical research and social research.

The UCSF Neurodegenerative Disease Brain Bank (NDBB) houses a critical resource for researchers studying neurodegenerative disease. The NDBB performs research-based, comprehensive brain autopsies on patients dying of neurodegenerative disease and works with collaborating researchers to support their studies.

Postdoctoral Position in Sleep Dysfunction and Neurodegenerative Diseases

The fellow will conduct research investigating the pathological changes in subcortical sleep-wake nuclei that occur in Alzheimer’s disease and other tauopathies. The fellow will obtain advanced training in neuroanatomy, neurohistology and quantitative human neuropathology in order to facilitate experiments geared toward understanding the biological basis of sleep disturbances presented clinically in patients with AD and related disorders.

Postdoctoral Position in Social Function

The Social Function Lab at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center has a postdoctoral fellowship position open for a researcher specializing in brain imaging analyses. Directed by Dr. Kate Rankin, the Social Function Lab is an NIH-funded research program that studies the neural correlates of behavior, socioemotional processing and social interactions, both in patients with neurodegenerative disease and healthy aging individuals.
