Lisa Kritikos, AGNP

Lisa Kritikos earned her master’s degree in nursing at UCSF School of Nursing in 2020. She is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Lisa assists with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, Frontotemporal Dementia Program Project Grant, and Longitudinal Brain Aging Program by conducting patient assessments and caregiver interviews for observational research studies. She also supports various aspects of Veteran-specific research at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) and sees follow-up patients at the SFVA Memory Evaluation Clinic. Additionally, she provides patient and caregiver support as part of the nurse-run behavior management clinic that helps families of patients with challenging behaviors that arise as part of dementia. She is a member of the Behavior Management Task Force to improve the management and understanding of behavioral symptoms in dementia patients. As part of the Behavior Management Task Force, she co-leads monthly interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and strategize difficult situations that our patients and caregivers are experiencing as part of the dementia process and gives a monthly lecture to rotators on managing behaviors. 
 
Before joining the Memory and Aging Center as a Nurse Practitioner, Lisa worked as the Program Manager of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC) Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center before graduate school and then as a part-time registered nurse at the UCSF MAC during graduate school. She was a Geriatrics Fellow in the UCSF School of Nursing Geriatrics Fellowship.  

Her research interests are improving the quality of life of patients with cognitive impairment and their families.
