The mission of the Memory and Aging Center (MAC) is to provide the highest quality of care for individuals with cognitive problems, to conduct research on causes and cures for degenerative brain diseases, and to educate health professionals, patients, and their families. The role of the genetic counselor is to work closely with the medical providers in the evaluation of patients and families at high risk for neurodegenerative disease. The position participates in both research and teaching objectives and is required to track data and report outcomes accordingly. The position may also design, conduct, and publish research projects.
