Ranjani Shankar is a clinical research coordinator at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, where she works in Dr. Gil Rabinovici’s In Vivo Molecular Neuroimaging Lab. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a bachelor’s degree in cognitive science, specializing in clinical aspects of cognition, and a minor in psychology.
Her academic and professional experience includes training animals for single-cell recordings in a neuroscience lab focused on spatial navigation and working in a psychiatry lab to study pupillometry as a predictor of Alzheimer’s disease. She contributes to various aspects of research, including literature reviews, data collection, and analysis.
At UCSF, Ranjani plays a key role in clinical research efforts aimed at improving our understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and other neurodegenerative conditions. Her work supports studies that utilize advanced neuroimaging techniques to uncover critical insights into disease mechanisms, thereby improving patient care and outcomes.
