Nicholas Schwartz, MD, PhD

Behavioral Neurology Clinical Fellow

Nicholas (Nick) Schwartz, MD, PhD, is a Behavioral Neurology Fellow at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center. He grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and obtained a BS degree in Neuroscience and Philosophy at Duke University, where his research focused on using egg-laying behavior to model decision-making in fruit flies. He completed his MD and PhD degrees at the Stony Brook University Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP), where his dissertation work focused on sphingolipid metabolism in neuropathy.

Janet Allen-Williams

Academic Assistant

Janet Allen-Williams joined the UCSF Department of Neurology in 2015. Since April 2023, Janet has served as an Academic Assistant for the Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, providing Academic Core Team services to the education team.
 

Alessandra Khodaverdi

Fellowship Coordinator, GBHI

Alessandra serves as the primary point of contact for the Atlantic Fellows program at GBHI. While monitoring the fellows' progress and providing programmatic support, she facilitates connections within the Memory and Aging Center and the UCSF community.

Before joining the GBHI team, Alessandra was the Program Assistant for the Pre-licensure Programs in the School of Nursing & Health Professions at the University of San Francisco, where she provided academic support and health education to nursing students.

Mindy Matice

Curriculum Manager, GBHI

Mindy supports the learning environment at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, both online and in the classroom. She is adapting her expertise as a teacher educator from traditional classroom environments to a "flipped" class and remote learning, while also supporting faculty in adapting content for this new environment.

Niall Kavanagh

Communications Officer, GBHI

Niall Kavanagh is a communications officer with the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI), housed within the Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center. Based at UCSF, he is responsible for developing and sharing the stories and messages of GBHI and the Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health.

Camellia Latta

Program Director for Alumni Relations & Special Initiatives, Atlantic Fellows Program

Camellia Latta is the Program Director for Alumni Relations & Special Initiatives at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) UCSF site, housed within the Edwardn and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center. She leads alumni relations work at GBHI to advance a global network of brain health leaders as Atlantic Fellows.

Stacey Yamamoto

Assistant Director for Program and Strategy, GBHI

As the Assistant Director for Programs and Strategy, Stacey oversees education and training at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) including recruitment and selection, curriculum, and monitoring and evaluation of the Atlantic Fellows Program. She oversees the administration of the Equity in Brain Health Certificate Program at UCSF as well as operational areas of international event management and communications.
