Fields of Interest

Oscar is the Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator at the Yokoyama Lab at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center. He supports the research focusing on the genetic, structural, and cognitive characterization of Alzheimer's disease and frontotemporal dementia in Central and South American populations.

Oscar graduated with a degree in psychology from the Catholic University of Colombia. As part of his program, he completed a one-year internship at the Military Hospital of Colombia, where he had the chance to support the Health Psychology and Neuropsychology departments. His honors thesis was focused on the development of a neuropsychological profile of Colombian kids with high-functioning autism.

He values the multidisciplinary, comprehensive approach the Yokoyama lab takes to deepen its understanding of neurodegenerative diseases.

In his free time, Oscar enjoys hiking and biking around the Bay Area.
