Aura leads the Pilot Awards Program at the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) and supports other regional impact efforts during the fellowship year and beyond. She works closely with the mentorship team and contributes to projects related to leadership development, with a particular emphasis on program integration.
Before joining GBHI and the Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, Aura served as a Care Manager Associate, directly supporting homebound geriatric clients, many of whom live with dementia. She also taught Pilates, with a focus on recovery from injuries, illnesses, and chronic conditions. Through this work, Aura developed a deep appreciation for the benefits of mindful movement and basic health education. Prior to her pivot to health, wellness, and healthcare education, Aura worked as a researcher and assistant project manager for an environmental consulting firm, bringing a strategic and integrated perspective to her current role.
Aura is driven by a passion to support the discovery and development of interventions that protect brain health and improve the quality of life for aging populations worldwide. She is equally committed to exploring ways to integrate climate crisis solutions into healthcare, recognizing the intersection of environmental sustainability and human health.
