Clinical Trials
Clinical trials are research studies designed to test new treatments, interventions, or diagnostic tools.

Clinical trials are essential for testing new treatments and advancing our understanding of neurodegenerative diseases. At the UCSF Memory and Aging Center (MAC), we conduct carefully designed clinical trials for conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, progressive supranuclear palsy, Huntington’s disease, and other neurodegenerative disorders.

Your participation in these trials plays a vital role in evaluating potential therapeutics and driving progress in the field. Whether you are living with a neurodegenerative condition, are a caregiver, or are interested in participating as a healthy volunteer, there are opportunities to contribute to this important research. If one of our trials looks interesting to you, please talk with your doctor or contact the study team to see if it is appropriate for you.

Complete Our Clinical Trials Pre-screen Survey

To determine your eligibility for clinical trials at UCSF, we encourage you to complete our Clinical Trials Pre-screen Survey. This 15–20 minute survey gathers basic information about you or your loved one, including diagnosis and medical history.

Completing the survey does not enroll you in a study. If you or your study partner meet the eligibility criteria, our Clinical Trials Team will contact you to schedule a follow-up conversation to confirm eligibility, discuss participation, and answer your questions.
