Position Description

Medical Director, Clinical Services Program, Memory and Aging Center
Department of Neurology, UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Health

The Memory and Aging Center in the Department of Neurology at UCSF is recruiting a Medical Director for its Clinical Services Program. The Medical Director will provide world-class direct patient care, manage relevant patient therapies, work with innovative clinical care management programs, including Care Ecosystem and palliative care, and have active participation in clinical research recruitment and supervision of house staff, fellows, and students in accredited programs. The selected candidate will collaborate with the Clinic Director and Department of Neurology leadership to develop a visionary strategy and work with the Memory and Aging Center’s Outreach teams to improve access and services to underserved populations.

The successful candidate will join an exceptional peer group and contribute to enhancing a nationally recognized clinical and academic department. The position will be appointed to the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor ranks of the Health Science (HS) Clinical or Clinical X faculty series. Teaching responsibilities include didactic and informal teaching on clinical rounds, case conferences, and mentoring Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychology fellows in the UCSF Health ambulatory clinical setting.

Qualified candidates must possess a medical degree, Board Certification in Neurology, possession of or eligibility for a California medical license, and at least seven years of clinical and teaching experience in Cognitive and Behavioral Neurology (including during residency and fellowships) at the time of appointment. Preferred qualifications include leadership experience. Candidate’s CV or cover letter must state required qualifications (or if pending) upon submission.
