Karen Zhang
Karen graduated from Northwestern University with her BA degree in Music and Biological Sciences. During her time at Northwestern, she coordinated and taught with the Academy of Music and Arts for Special Needs (AMASE), a student organization that provides free music lessons and arts enrichment to Chicagoland youth with disabilities. As a music student, Karen frequently performed as a member of the Northwestern Saxophone Ensemble, Northwestern Saxophone Quartets, and Northwestern Symphonic Band. Prior to joining the UCSF Multitudes team at the Dyslexia Center, Karen had served two AmeriCorps terms with Reading Partners where she helped provide interventional literacy instruction to K–5 students at Rosa Parks Elementary in San Francisco.
In her free time, Karen enjoys cooking, baking, and exploring the Bay Area with her partner.
