A. Required Citation and Acknowledgment of the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center Project
Researchers using data provided by the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center agree to cite and acknowledge the Fein Memory and Aging Center project(s) as the source of the data in all publications, presentations, and abstracts. Citations must include the project title and the version number of the data sets used.
Below are examples of proper citation and acknowledgment language:
1. Meeting Abstracts
- Methods Section: “Data for these analyses were obtained from the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center [insert project title].”
2. Papers and Journal Articles
- Methods Section: “Data used in the preparation of this article were obtained from the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center [insert project title] database. Specific data sets used are [version numbers].”
- Acknowledgment: “This manuscript was prepared using a UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center [insert project title] data set and does not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center investigators, the NIH, or private funding partners.”
3. Presentations
- Methods Section: “Data for these analyses were obtained from a UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center [insert project title] data set.”
- Acknowledgment: “This presentation was prepared using a UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center [insert project title] data set and does not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center investigators, the NIH, or private funding partners.”
B. Informing the Fein Memory and Aging Center About Publications Using Fein Memory and Aging Center Data
Researchers are required to notify the Fein Memory and Aging Center of any publications based on data provided by Fein Memory and Aging Center projects. The first and/or senior author must update publication information in their NCBI bibliography to ensure compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy, when applicable.
