A Portland native, Lynn came to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley. She graduated in May 2016 with a degree in cognitive science and a concentration in cognitive neuroscience. As an undergraduate, she worked in the D’Esposito Lab on a project seeking to understand dopamine’s mediation of cognitive control and the contributions of dopamine deficiency to cognitive deficits in Parkinson’s disease.
Vera Bakman brings to the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) extensive experience working with international non-profit organizations focused on underserved populations. Her work is driven by a belief in basic human rights and the need to strive for equality of opportunity. She is a trilingual speaker of Russian, Spanish and English.
Giovanni is a biomedical engineer in the ALBA Language Neurobiology Lab with a strong background in image and signal processing, computational and cognitive neuroscience, and imaging genetics.
Originally from Santa Rosa, California, Hailey moved down to the Bay Area to attend college at UC Berkeley, where she recently graduated with a degree in integrative biology. As an undergraduate, she worked as a student instructor in the IB Human Anatomy Lab and worked with concussion detection technology at the company Oculogica. At the Memory and Aging Center, Hailey works with Dr. Kate Possin on the Care Ecosystem Study.
Nicole Boyd is a clinical research coordinator in the Division of Geriatrics. She is working on a collaboration between the Memory and Aging Center and the Division of Geriatrics on a GBHI-funded project exploring the palliative care needs and challenges of people with dementia and their caregivers.
Dr. Broce is a postdoctoral scholar in the Yokoyama Lab at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center and the Radiology and Biomedical Imaging Department at UCSF. Her research combines neuroimaging, genetics and computational methods to discover pathological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative conditions.
