Ashley Heywood, PhD, is a Clinical Neuropsychology Fellow at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. Her research focuses on developing neuroimaging biomarkers to improve the detection and understanding of psychiatric and neurodegenerative diseases. She uses advanced brain imaging techniques, including structural and functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), to study changes in brain structure and function.
Before joining UCSF, Heywood earned a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where her research focused on neuroimaging and neuropathology. She completed her clinical psychology internship through the University of California, San Diego/San Diego VA Consortium.
