Mai Anh Bui, MA

Pre-HIRE-Bundle New Hire

Mai Anh Bui is a data scientist III at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center. She previously worked as a data scientist at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, in which she used her analytic strengths to help education systems improve outcomes. She also worked at the World Bank Group, and the International Monetary Fund, where she utilized time series analysis and regression models to forecast gross domestic product and assess country risk.

Nhat Bui, NP

Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner

Nhật Bùi earned her master’s degree in nursing here at UCSF in 2016. She is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Nhật assists with the Alzheimer’s Dementia Research Center and clinical trial projects by conducting patient assessments and caregiver interviews for observational research studies and clinical drug trials.

Claire Cadwallader, PhD

Postdoctoral Scholar

Claire is a postdoctoral fellow in neuropsychology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center under the mentorship of Associate Professor Kaitlin Casaletto. Her research interests involve the role of lifestyle factors, such as physical activity, in supporting healthy brain aging and protecting against neurodegenerative disease.
 

Laura María Calderón Cuevas

Laura Calderon Cuevas, BA, MA

Community Education Specialist

Laura is a Colombian multidisciplinary teaching artist, singer, dancer, and internationalist with a master's degree in human rights. She is the Project Manager & Music-Centered Workshop Senior Leader at Musicians For Human Rights in Greece and is a member of the UCSF Memory and Aging Center Community Outreach Program.

Pat is a research analyst in the Social Function Lab led by Dr. Katherine Rankin.

Lana Callies

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Lana is a research coordinator in Dr. Joel Kramer’s lab working primarily on the Active Mind Clinical Trial as well as the Brain Aging Network for Cognitive Health study and the Mechanisms of Executive Decline study. She graduated with a BS degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis in June 2022

Ellie Carpenter

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator, Dyslexia Center

Originally from Austin, Ellie graduated from the University of San Francisco with her BA degree in psychology in 2023. At the University of San Francisco, Ellie was a research assistant in the Learning and Memory Lab where she studied thought suppression and the rebound effect. She was also a research assistant in the Social Cognition Lab studying moral outrage in virtual settings. 

Kaitlin Casaletto, PhD

Associate Professor

Dr. Kaitlin Casaletto is a scientist-practitioner, board-certified neuropsychologist, and Associate Professor at the UC San Francisco Memory and Aging Center (MAC). She leads a research program identifying novel biobehavioral targets of dementia prevention. Her work has a particular lens towards sex differences and translational study designs that leverage proteomic and digital health approaches to identify targets of cognitive resilience to aging.

Patricia 'Ale' Castruita

Ale Castruita

Research Data Analyst

Ale joined the Yokoyama Lab through a post-baccalaureate NIH-funded fellowship, where she studied clinico-pathologically interesting cases of Alzheimer's disease. She developed a fascination for identifying a genetic relationship to disease through her very first undergrad research experience at the Health Equity Research Lab at San Francisco State University, where she examined the ancestral linkage between triple-negative breast cancer and African Ancestry.
