Kaitlin Casaletto, PhD

Assistant Professor
+1 415 476-1883

Kaitlin obtained her PhD degree in Clinical Psychology from the UCSD/SDSU Joint Doctoral Program in 2016. She completed her clinical internship as part of the UCSF Clinical Psychology Training Program in the Department of Psychiatry, and her post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center in the Department of Neurology.

Kaitlin is a neuropsychologist at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center passionate about understanding resilience to brain aging and neurodegeneration. She aims to deeply phenotype the behaviors and biology supporting successful aging outcomes in order to identify the most potent intervention points for dementia prevention. Her work has focused on applying novel molecular fluid biomarkers reflecting synaptic, glial, immune, and vascular functioning to highlight relevant neurobiological pathways related to resilient aging. One approach she has taken is to characterize lifestyle behaviors known to relate to brain health (e.g., exercise, cognitive activity, stress) and identify related neurobiology via linked biofluid markers. These works have also leveraged technology-based approaches (e.g., Fitbit) to quantify protective brain health behaviors. Her overarching goal is to elucidate the biology of resilient neurologic aging to ultimately help identify at-risk older adults and highlight avenues for dementia prevention therapeutics.

Dr. Casaletto is accepting applications for postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology.
