Lisa Kritikos earned her master’s degree in nursing at the UCSF School of Nursing and is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Lisa leads the Frontotemporal Dementia Program Project Grant and assists with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center and Longitudinal Brain Aging Program by conducting patient assessments, caregiver interviews, and providing caregiver/patient support. She also supports various aspects of Veteran-specific research at the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center. She is a member of the Behavior Management Task Force to improve the management and understanding of behavioral symptoms in patients with dementia. As part of the Behavior Management Task Force, she leads monthly interdisciplinary meetings to discuss and strategize about difficult situations our patients and caregivers are experiencing as part of the dementia process, and she gives a monthly lecture to rotators on managing behaviors.
Before joining the Memory and Aging Center as a Nurse Practitioner, Lisa worked as the Program Manager of the UCSF Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center before graduate school and then as a part-time registered nurse at the UCSF Fein Memory and Aging Center during graduate school. She was a Geriatrics Fellow in the UCSF School of Nursing Geriatrics Fellowship.
Her research interests focus on improving the quality of life for patients with cognitive impairment and their families. She is especially interested in caregiver education and guidance around managing behaviors.
