Liya Rabkina is a licensed, board-certified genetic counselor at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. She works with research participants, providing genetic counseling in support of clinical research on neurodegenerative diseases.
Liya earned a master's degree in genetic counseling from Northwestern University in 2020 and became board-certified later that year. In 2024, she completed a research fellowship through a collaboration between Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania and earned a graduate certificate focused on advancing research training for genetic counselors.
Before joining UCSF, Liya gained experience in oncology genetics and preimplantation genetic testing. She is passionate about improving patient care and advancing clinical research through genetic counseling.
