Fields of Interest:

Madeline hails from California’s central valley, and she recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a bachelor's degree in cognitive science. Madeline is interested in the various ways the human brain manages information, and she is fascinated both by the fragility and astonishing resilience of the nervous system. While at UC Berkeley, she spent a semester volunteering in a perceptual lab that investigated the neural correlates of visual serial dependence using EEG. She also spent a summer interning at a brain sciences institute in Seattle where she contributed to a bilingual development project. At the Memory and Aging Center, Madeline helps coordinate Dr. Valcour’s HIV Elders study.

When she is not talking about her favorite perceptual illusions, you might find her running through the east bay hills, volunteering with local mental health organizations, or dancing to old jazz melodies.
