Shireen Javandel
Shireen provides oversight for resource allocation, risk mitigation, budgeting, and logistics for the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center. She works closely with the Department of Neurology and other groups to optimize the administration of the program within UCSF. Shireen also oversees the growing impact portfolio in partnership with Global Atlantic Fellows and UCSF Memory and Aging Center faculty, providing leadership for the Pilot Program for Global Brain Health Leaders, research initiatives and partnerships with the US Alzheimer’s Association, the National Institutes of Health and other agencies working with Atlantic Fellows towards transformative impact.
Shireen has been involved in launching and managing numerous domestic and international research projects, including the Atlantic Fellow-led ReDLat consortium. She previously managed the HIV research program with the UCSF Memory and Aging Center and, before coming to UCSF in 2014, she worked in education, coordinating work-placed based mentorships for underserved middle school students.
