Renaud La Joie, PhD

Assistant Professor

Renaud La Joie, PhD, is the Edward and Pearl Fein Endowed Professor in Precision Care for Memory Disorders at UCSF. A neuroscientist and neuroimaging expert, his research seeks to understand why Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative conditions affect people differently. He uses advanced brain imaging, biological markers measured in blood and other body fluids, and tests of memory and thinking to study the brain changes that contribute to differences in symptoms and disease progression.

Bruce Miller, MD

A.W. and Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Professor in Neurology

Bruce L. Miller, MD, is the A.W. and Mary Margaret Clausen Distinguished Professor of Neurology and director of the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, an NIH-sponsored Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. A world-renowned behavioral neurologist, Dr. Miller specializes in the diagnosis and management of neurodegenerative diseases, with a particular focus on frontotemporal dementia (FTD). His groundbreaking research has advanced the understanding of brain-behavior relationships, disease mechanisms, and therapeutic approaches for dementia.

Outreach Research Manager

Andrea Weng, MD, is the Outreach Research Manager for the Outreach, Recruitment, and Engagement (ORE) Core of the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences and the UCSF Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC). She supports the ORE Core's community outreach and research initiatives, helping connect diverse communities with opportunities to participate in research that advances the understanding of memory and aging.
