Nhat Bui, NP

Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner

Nhật Bùi earned her master’s degree in nursing here at UCSF in 2016. She is certified as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Nhật assists with the Alzheimer’s Dementia Research Center and clinical trial projects by conducting patient assessments and caregiver interviews for observational research studies and clinical drug trials.

Claire Cadwallader, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Claire is a postdoctoral fellow in neuropsychology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center under the mentorship of Associate Professor Kaitlin Casaletto. Her research interests involve the role of lifestyle factors, such as physical activity, in supporting healthy brain aging and protecting against neurodegenerative disease.

Lana Callies

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Lana is a research coordinator in Dr. Joel Kramer’s lab working primarily on the Active Mind Clinical Trial as well as the Brain Aging Network for Cognitive Health study and the Mechanisms of Executive Decline study. She graduated with a BS degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from UC Davis in June 2022

Ellie Carpenter

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator, Dyslexia Center

Originally from Austin, Ellie graduated from the University of San Francisco with her BA degree in psychology in 2023. At the University of San Francisco, Ellie was a research assistant in the Learning and Memory Lab where she studied thought suppression and the rebound effect. She was also a research assistant in the Social Cognition Lab studying moral outrage in virtual settings. 

Kaitlin Casaletto, PhD

Associate Professor

Dr. Kaitlin Casaletto is a scientist-practitioner, board-certified neuropsychologist, and Associate Professor at the UC San Francisco Memory and Aging Center (MAC). She leads a research program identifying novel biobehavioral targets of dementia prevention. Her work has a particular lens towards sex differences and translational study designs that leverage proteomic and digital health approaches to identify targets of cognitive resilience to aging.

Kassey Chang, BA

Clinical Research Coordinator

Kassey graduated with a BA degree from Columbia University, studying linguistics and computer science. She previously worked on visual mental imagery at Columbia's The Living Lab and early trilingual development at City University of Hong Kong. Now at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center, she works in the Tee Lab on the Frontotemporal Dementia: Genes, Images and Emotions study.

Shirley Chen

Clinical Research Coordinator

Shirley was born in Guangzhou, China, and grew up in Los Angeles, California. She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacology. During her undergraduate studies, she worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician and gained patient care experience as an Emergency Department volunteer and Surgical Nursing volunteer in the hospital.

Coty Chen

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Coty is a research coordinator for Dr. Kaitlin Casaletto’s Activities for Aging Neurogenesis study, an intervention-based study investigating the relationship between lifestyle factors and protein markers of neural functioning. She graduated with a BS degree in Clinical Psychology from UC San Diego.
