Ganna Blazhenets, PhD, is an associate professional researcher at the UCSF Edward and Pearl Fein Memory and Aging Center, part of the UCSF Weill Institute for Neurosciences. With a background in physics and neuroimaging, Dr. Blazhenets uses advanced brain imaging and analytical methods to study the biological processes underlying neurodegenerative diseases. Her research aims to identify factors that contribute to neurodegeneration and could ultimately improve early diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis for people living with these conditions.
Dr. Blazhenets earned her PhD at the University of Freiburg in Germany, where her research focused on combining multiple types of brain imaging to better understand the brain. She joined the Rabinovici Lab as a visiting scholar in 2022 and returned in 2024 as an assistant professional researcher, continuing her work on neuroimaging and neurodegenerative disease.
