Participants who want to volunteer for research on healthy aging should first join the Brain Aging Network for Cognitive Health. Joining this program involves a single visit every 12 months and will enable you to get involved in other related research projects, like this study, if you’re interested.

Purpose of the Study
This is a study that aims to identify the relationship between amyloid aggregation in the brain and brain structure and function.
Study Details
Inclusion criteria: Volunteers aged 40+ with minor or no memory problems involved in the Brain Aging Network for Cognitive Health
Exclusion criteria: Abnormal history of radiation exposure, kidney disease, renal failure
What to Expect
Testing: Amyloid PET scan performed at UCSF China Basin. This process involves injection of a radiotracer and a 20-minute PET/CT scan
Frequency of visits: 1 visit (2 hours), to be repeated longitudinally if desired
Materials needed prior to evaluation: None
Costs: No costs will be charged for any of the study procedures. Parking will be validated by China Basin staff.
