Jack Taylor, BS

Clincial Research Coordinator

Jack Taylor is an Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator in the Boxer Lab of the Memory and Aging Center, focused on piloting and implementing smartphone-based cognitive assessments into ALLFTD (the ARTFL-LEFFTDS Longitudinal Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration multisite research consortium).

Boon Lead Tee

Assistant Professor

Dr. Tee is a neurologist from Taiwan and an Atlantic Fellow for Equity in Brain Health at the Global Brain Health Institute. She completed her medical and master’s degrees at National Taiwan University and her residency at National Taiwan University Hospital and En-Chu-Kong Hospital. She co-directs the Chinese outreach effort at UCSF Memory and Aging Center.

Charlie Toohey

Manager of Technology and Data Management

Charlie Toohey is the Manager of Technology and Data Management at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center. He is the senior software architect for the LAVA Clinical Research Management System, a comprehensive database of patient assessment, laboratory and diagnostic data which supports many inter-related research protocols. LAVA source code is available on GitHub in the “lava” repository.

Winnie Tsou

Technical Project Manager

Winnie brings extensive experience in project management, software development and web technologies to the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) through her work across many industries including non-profit scientific publishing, biotechnology, human resources software, consulting and legal services.

Elena Tsoy, PhD

Assistant Professor

Elena Tsoy was awarded her PhD degree in counseling psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She completed her predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at Tewksbury State Hospital and her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at UCSF Memory and Aging Center.

Angelo Tumaneng

Registered Nurse

Angelo earned his nursing degree at Contra Costa College. He has experience in behavioral health and worked in an acute hospital setting providing nursing care to patients with psychiatric disorders for over 7 years. He joined the Memory and Aging Center team to focus on providing safe, high-quality, and thorough patient care delivery to those with neurodegenerative diseases.

In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching action movies and going to music concerts.

Ana Tyler

Program Manager

Ana Tyler, JD, MA, received her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her law degree with a concentration in health law and policy and master’s degree in bioethics from Case Western Reserve University. After completing a fellowship in Clinical Ethics from Sutter Health (California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco), she worked as a clinical ethicist at Beaumont Health in the metro Detroit, Michigan area.

Hulya Ulugut Erkoyun

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Ulugut is a postdoctoral fellow in the Social Function Lab led by Dr. Katherine Rankin.

Dilanaz Unal

Assistant Clinical Research Coordinator

Naz works on the ARTFL-LEFFTDS Longitudinal Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration (ALLFTD) study, a multisite research consortium.

Victor Valcour, MD, PhD

Professor of Medicine
Executive Director, GBHI

Dr. Valcour is a Professor of Medicine with a shared appointment in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Department of Neurology. His work crosses disciplines to research and care for cognitive disorders in aging populations and to understand brain injury in the setting of HIV among all ages, including funded pediatric HIV studies. His clinical work involves consultations for patients with cognitive disorders at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center.
