Lyzzette graduated from UC Merced with a BS degree in Cognitive Science and a minor in Psychology before she obtained her Master's degree in Neuroimaging and Informatics from the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine. During her master's program, she joined Dr.
Matenyeh supports faculty and fellows in the Global Brain Health Institute (GBHI) to conduct research projects in East Africa, including HMCA-DP and BRIDGE Africa.
Whitney Walker is a dedicated Adult-Gerontology Clinical Nurse Specialist with over a decade of acute care experience at UCSF. Originally from Connecticut, she brings over 13 years of expertise in acute transitional and ICU clinical settings. Whitney previously held the role of Lead Clinical Trials Nurse at the UCSF Neuroscience Clinical Research Unit, where she honed her skills in clinical research and patient care.
Celina graduated from the University of San Diego with a BA degree in Behavioral Neuroscience and a minor in Philosophy before she obtained her MS degree in Neuroimaging and Informatics from the University of Southern California’s Keck School of Medicine.
Greg received his bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Brigham Young University where he developed a new class of influenza inhibitors. He completed his PhD degree at UCSF in Martin Kampmann's Lab. In the Kampmann lab, he studied how the V337M tau mutation perturbs differentiating iPSC-derived neurons. Greg works with the Clelland Lab at the Memory and Aging Center to develop new methods for screening nanoparticle delivery of gene editing therapies.
Liya Rabkina is a licensed and board-certified genetic counselor at the Memory and Aging Center. She graduated from Northwestern University's master’s program in genetic counseling in 2020 and became board-certified later that same year. In 2024, Liya finished a research fellowship through a collaboration between Northwestern University and the University of Pennsylvania, while also earning a master's certificate focused on advancing research training for genetic counselors. She has experience in oncology and preimplantation genetic testing (infertility genetics).
Bianca joined the Seeley Lab at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center in July 2024 as a laboratory assistant and helps the Neurodegenerative Disease Brain Bank in the preparation and packing of fixed tissue slides along with other tasks. Bianca received her B.S.
Albert is a data engineer working on the Brain Aging Network for Cognitive Health study building reproducible data pipelines. He graduated with a BA degree in Computer Science from UC Berkeley in 2017.
Dr. Margo Heston is a postdoctoral scholar and an NIH F99/K00 fellow funded through the NIH Blueprint and BRAIN Initiative Diversity Specialized Predoctoral to Postdoctoral Advancement in Neuroscience (D-SPAN) program.
